Omegon MiniTrack LX3 Essentials Astrotracker: the entry-level model into the MiniTrack series

The MiniTrack LX3 Essentials is the entry-level model: the same mechanical tracker as the full LX3, but with a simple plastic polar finder tube instead of an optical polar finder. For wide-angle shots of the Milky Way, that is more than sufficient.

The MiniTrack works entirely mechanically: you wind it up like a kitchen timer, and it tracks the stars for up to an hour. No batteries, no cables, no firmware. On a cold night far from home, that's just one less thing that can break.

What you can do with it

With a wide-angle lens, you capture the Milky Way and constellations in exposures that are impossible without a tracker. Where you get trails after twenty seconds when shooting handheld or on a fixed tripod, stars remain pinpoints with the tracker.

Compact and powerless

The CNC-machined aluminum housing fits in any backpack and supports cameras up to 3 kg. That is enough for a mirrorless camera with a wide-angle or light telephoto lens.

Expandable later

You can expand this basic model later on. If you want more precise alignment, the optical polar finder is the first step; that comes standard on the regular LX3.
