Omegon Field Flattener 2 inch corrects image field curvature in refractors, so that stars remain sharp and dot-shaped across the entire image plane - all the way to the far corners. Without a flattener, stars at the edges often look like blurry discs, especially when using large sensors. With this flattener, you can create even astrophotos with pin-sharp stars, ideal for DSLRs and full-frame cameras.
The flattener is suitable for refractors with an aperture ratio of f/4 to f/8. The focal length of your telescope determines the required backfocus distance between the flattener and the sensor. Depending on the focal length, this is between 108 and 128 mm. Thanks to the exceptionally long back focus of 109 mm, there is plenty of room for accessories such as filter wheels, flip mirrors or an off-axis guider.
With the M48 thread on both sides, you take full advantage of the full light exposure, without vignetting as is often the case with T2 (M42). The high-quality multicoating on the lenses ensures maximum light transmission and contrast, so your photos are not only flatter, but also brighter and more color accurate.
Observation goals
Suitable for all modern ED refractors with an aperture ratio of f/4 to f/8. Ideal for astrophotographers working with full-frame or APS-C cameras who want their field of view to be completely flat. Not intended for use with Newtons or other reflector telescopes.
