Omegon Push+ Go Encoder System for Dobson: your existing Dobson learns where it is pointing

Jumping from star to star to find a faint galaxy takes time, and sometimes it just doesn't work out. You build this encoder system onto an existing Dobson and it tells you precisely where the telescope is pointing.

Manual remains manual

You still push the telescope yourself. No motor is involved and nothing changes about the viewing experience of a Dobson. What you get in addition is a crosshair on your screen that moves along with it, so you can see if you are on target.

Two encoders, two axes

The set includes encoders for the azimuth and elevation axes, with a resolution of 36,000 pulses per axis. They transmit their position via Bluetooth to your phone or laptop, where the planetarium software turns it into a target point.

On which Dobsons

The system is intended for Dobson telescopes such as the Omegon Advanced X and GSO models. Measure in advance whether the encoders fit on your rocker box; the mounting requires a flat shaft on both sides.

What you need

Pay attention to compatibility: Push+ pairs via Bluetooth with Android devices and Windows computers. iPhone and iPad are not supported. The recommended app is SkySafari Plus 4 for Android, which must be purchased separately; the free version cannot control a telescope.
