Omegon Dobson telescope N 102/640: the largest tabletop Dobson in the entry-level series

The Omegon Dobson N 102/640 It's a compact tabletop Dobsonian with a 102mm mirror. You set it on a table or box, aim with the red dot finder, and look. The wooden rocker box moves smoothly in two directions, with no prior setup or alignment.

With a 102 mm opening, it captures approximately 212 times more light than the naked eye. This is enough for lunar craters, Jupiter's cloud bands, Saturn's rings, and bright deep-sky objects like the Orion Nebula and the Pleiades.

Eyepiece focuser for the Omegon Dobson 102/640

102 mm mirror, two eyepieces, and a 3x Barlow

With the 25 mm eyepiece, you observe at 26x with a wide field of view: ideal for finding objects and exploring star fields. The 10 mm eyepiece brings you to 64x for lunar and planetary detail.

The included 3x Barlow lens triples any magnification, up to 192x with the 10mm eyepiece. That's close to the practical maximum of around 200x; use that setting on a calm, clear night.

Wooden rocker box for the Omegon Dobson 102/640

Wooden rocker box: pushing is aiming

The Dobson mount is intentionally simple. You push the tube to the object, and the Teflon bearings hold it there. No counterweights, no aligning axes, no batteries.

On a sturdy table, garden bench, or storage chest, the viewer is at eye level for seated observation. The controls are also immediately understandable for children.

Red dot finder for the Omegon Dobsonian 102/640

Quick aiming with the red dot sight

The red dot finder projects a red dot onto the sky. You look with both eyes open, place the dot on your target, and then look through the eyepiece. This way you can find the Moon or a bright planet in seconds.

Compact enough for the backseat

The 640 mm tube and the compact rocker box fit together in the trunk or on the back seat. This way, you can take the telescope to a dark location outside the city, where deep-sky objects show much more.

Featured accessories

The Omegon laser collimator (€44.90) keeps the mirrors aligned for a sharp image. An Omegon Premium 1.25-inch moon filter (€19.90) dims bright moonlight, and the Omegon 7-21mm zoom eyepiece (€69) replaces individual eyepieces with a continuously adjustable range from 30x to 91x. With the Omegon smartphone adapter 25-48mm (€14.90), you can take your first moon photos through the eyepiece.

Never look at the sun through a telescope without a certified solar filter: this can cause permanent eye damage within a second. For the partial solar eclipse on August 12, 2026, the Bresser solar eclipse glasses (€3.20) are the safest way to watch with the naked eye.
