A Newtonian telescope that is not properly aligned produces blurred stars, no matter how good the optics are otherwise. With this collimation eyepiece, you can precisely adjust the mirrors, even in fast systems down to f/3 where tolerances are tightest.
The eyepiece works with a reflective collimation mirror and an optimized length. Unlike a laser, it does not require batteries and cannot go out of alignment itself, making it reliable as a reference.
