Omegon Amici prism 45° 1.25 inches sets the image upright and left-right correctly, exactly as you see it with the naked eye. This makes this 45° Amici prism perfect for daytime bird watching, ship tracking or landscape viewing through your telescope, without having to “flip” your brain. The 45° viewing angle ensures a relaxed posture, especially during longer sessions.

The prism has a 1.25-inch connection in and out, so you snap it directly into most refractors, Maksutovs and Schmidt-Cassegrains and use your existing 1.25″ eyepieces. Looking specifically for a star-diagonal for high magnifications? Be aware that an Amici prism can sometimes show a fine diffraction line at bright stars; for moon/planets at high magnifications, a standard diagonal is the better choice. For terrestrial use, on the other hand, an Amici is the standard because the orientation is natural.

Application

Use this Amici prism primarily for terrestrial and low-magnification observations: nature, shipping, horizon objects and a straight-up moon image. For serious planetary detail and deep-sky at high magnification, a regular star diagonal remains more appropriate.
