A different wavelength, a different sun
H-alpha and Calcium-K lines different layers from the sun's atmosphere. Whereas the red H-alpha line shows the higher chromosphere with its prominences and filaments, in the blue you look Calcium-K light (393.4 nm) deeper down. Supergranulation dominates there: a network of cells across the entire surface, with bright plage areas around active regions.


Especially for photography
Calcium-K is located at the edge of what the human eye can see. Many observers see a faint blue-violet image with little detail; older people generally see less than younger people. A camera doesn't have that problem. Lunt therefore optimizes the Ca-K modules primarily for photography: do not expect an H-alpha-like experience visually.
Assembly
Remove the H-alpha etalon unit from the LS130MT and slide the Ca-K module into place of the blocking filter in the focuser. At the Does the LS130MT/B1200 and B1800 work directly?. The LS130MT/B3400 has the block filter fixed in the focuser, and you also need the conversion kit (item 0551696).

Safety
Never look at the sun without the H-alpha etalon and blocking filter correctly installed. Use the instrument only as intended by Lunt and never disassemble it. Never leave a telescope pointed at the sun unattended.
