iOptron Z-Axis Balance Kit: balance kit for the Z-axis
The Z-Axis Balance Kit balances the third axis of your mount: the rotation around the viewing direction. If a guidecope, viewfinder or camera is mounted in the middle of the tube, it will cause the alignment to be skewed. This kit compensates for that with a counterweight on the dovetail saddle.
The result is more stable tracking and smoother movements, noticeable with long exposures and heavy optics.
Compatibility
The kit fits iOptron CEM and GEM mounts with M8 screw holes in the saddle: CEM120, CEM70, CEM40 and GEM45 with the wide 6-inch V/D double saddle (not the G versions). Other mounts with M8 holes in the saddle can also use the kit.

- ✓ Astrophotographers with an asymmetrical setup (guidescope, viewfinder, camera out of the center)
- ✗ CEM40G and GEM45G: this kit does not fit on them
