iOptron SkyHunter EQ/AZ Mount iPolar GoTo Without Tripod: GoTo mount with electronic polar alignment
This version of the iOptron SkyHunter EQ/AZ has the iPolar electronic polar scope built-in. Polar alignment, the foundation of every sharp astrophotography image, is thus done entirely on your laptop screen: quickly, precisely, and without needing a view of Polaris.
The mount weighs 1.3 kg, carries 5 kg (11 lbs) and works both alt-azimuth and equatorially. In EQ mode with the included base and counterweight set, you can take exposures of minutes without field rotation.
Supplied without a tripod: the head fits any sturdy photo tripod with a 3/8 or 1/4 inch connection.

Pool alignment in four steps
Connect the mount to your laptop via USB, and the iPolar camera shows the position of the celestial pole and the direction of the polar axis. Use the adjustment knobs to bring them together; the software automatically calculates using date, time, and atmospheric refraction.
The method works in both hemispheres and also in locations where the North Star is hidden behind trees or buildings.
GoTo and tracking for astrophotography and visual observation
Two DC servo motors with optical encoders drive the GoTo control system. Via WiFi, you can operate everything using SkySafari or iOptron Commander; ASCOM and INDI enable computer control, and the Go2Nova 8410 hand controller can be optionally connected.
Four tracking speeds (stars, half-star speed, sun, and moon) and the built-in rechargeable battery with up to 10 hours of operating time complete the mount.
