iOptron HAZ31 Strain Wave ALT-AZ Mount: GoTo observing without polar alignment

The iOptron HAZ31 is an alt-azimuth GoTo mount with strain wave drive and a payload capacity of 14 kg (31 lbs), without counterweight. Set it down, align on one or two stars and observe: polar alignment is not required.

This makes it the fastest route to GoTo viewing with a serious telescope, at home on the patio or on the go.

The built-in GPS sets the time and position automatically, and the WiFi enables control via SkySafari or iOptron Commander.

Strain wave without polar alignment

The strain wave gears deliver a high torque without backlash and without a counterweight. Furthermore, as a pure alt-azimuth mount, polar alignment is eliminated: set it up, align on one or two stars, and observe.

The friction brake safely stops the mount in the event of a power failure, and the power-down memory preserves the alignment for the next session.

Lightweight and ready for immediate use

Without a counterweight and without a wedge, the complete setup remains light and compact. The Go2Nova hand controller selects objects directly; via WiFi, your phone or tablet can also be used as a controller.

Autoguiding and field rotation correction are not applicable for visual alt-azimuth use: observing is the main focus.
