iOptron GEM28 Mount GoTo iPolar LiteRoc: German GoTo mount with iPolar on LiteRoc tripod
The iOptron GEM28 is a classic German equatorial GoTo mount with a payload capacity of 28 lbs (12.7 kg), excluding counterweights, at a weight of only 10 lbs (4.5 kg). Its latitude range of 10 to 70 degrees makes it suitable for all of Europe.
This model combines the built-in iPolar electronic polar finder with the heavy-duty LiteRoc tripod: precise alignment via laptop on the most stable base in the series.
This makes it the most complete GEM28 photography kit without encoder.

GoTo with 212,000 objects
The Go2Nova 8409 hand controller contains a database of over 212,000 objects. After alignment, the mount automatically slews to planets, nebulae, star clusters, and galaxies, keeping them precisely in view.
Via the built-in WiFi, you can also control the mount with iOptron Commander or planetarium software; ASCOM support enables full computer control. An ST-4 port is ready for autoguiding.

Smooth and precise mechanics
Stepper motors with belt drive move both axes smoothly and evenly. The periodic error remains below plus or minus 10 arcseconds and can be further reduced with recordable PPEC.
The gear couplings lock with a positive click and can also be operated with gloves. The Vixen saddle accepts dovetail rails as standard.

iPolar plus LiteRoc
The iPolar camera in the polar axis shows the celestial pole on your laptop and calculates using date, time, and atmospheric refraction. Within minutes, the mount is aligned exactly.
The thick LiteRoc legs dampen vibrations faster than the standard tripod, which is immediately visible in images taken at longer focal lengths.
