The GSO 152/1200 Dobson is the most affordable way to get a genuine 6-inch parabolic mirror for your home. With 471 times more light than the naked eye and a long focal length of 1200 mm (f/7.9), this is a natural choice for observing the Moon and planets, and it also reveals the bright deep-sky classics. GSO cuts the mirrors for many well-known merk models; here you can buy those optics without the merk markup.

Long focal length: forgiving and sharp

At f/7.9, simple eyepieces are already sharp to the edge and collimation is less critical than with fast mirrors. The two included eyepieces and the 6×30 finder scope make the set complete right away; realistically usable magnification is up to about 304x. The 1.25-inch focuser with fine adjustment focuses precisely.

Good for: the price-conscious beginner looking for maximum optics per euro and primarily wants to see the Moon, planets, and bright deep-sky objects. Not for: those who want a more luxurious focuser and equipment; then look at the Levenhuk Ra 150N or the Sky-Watcher Skyliner line.
