A small 66 mm refractor is lightweight, easy to carry, and suitable for photography with a wide field of view. If you want to focus more precisely with a camera, you can use this focal adapter for the William Optics 66 mm to attach a Feather Touch focus system from Starlight Instruments to your tube.
The adapter replaces the original focus ring and connects the tube to the Feather Touch. William Optics has made several 66 mm models, so check that the connection of your tube matches. For photography with such a tube, you often use a flattener or one of our reducers for astrophotography.
After the conversion, recalculate your distance to the sensor again, because a different focus mechanism can move the focus point. If in doubt, please provide us with the exact type of your telescope. Keep the lens covered while changing the focus mechanism.
A rainbow band for 3 inch telescopes keeps the lens free of dew, and a Bahtinov mask tailored to your tube helps with focusing.
