Maximum aperture for your first equatorial telescope

The Celestron PowerSeeker 127 EQ offers the largest mirror in the PowerSeeker line. The 127 mm aperture gathers 329 times more light than the naked eye: detailed lunar work, the rings of Saturn, the moons of Jupiter, and bright deep-sky objects such as the Orion Nebula and the Andromeda Galaxy. The 1000 mm focal length is housed in a compact tube thanks to a built-in corrector lens in the focuser.

Equatorial tracking with fine adjustment

The German equatorial mount tracks celestial objects with a single rotation on the fine adjustment while the Earth rotates. The aluminum tripod with accessory tray keeps eyepieces and the Barlow within arm's reach. The short tube keeps the setup portable and quick to set up.

Honest about the enlargement

Included are 20 mm and 4 mm eyepieces plus a 3x Barlow lens. Use the 20 mm eyepiece (50x) as a base, optionally with the Barlow at 150x. The 4 mm eyepiece (250x) marks the practical upper limit; the combination with the Barlow exceeds what this optics and the Dutch atmosphere can deliver. A 10 mm eyepiece will be a useful upgrade later for comfortable planetary viewing.
