The top model of the Evolution line: maximum opening, fully wireless

The Celestron NexStar Evolution 9.25 inch is built for observers who want to see more. The 235mm Schmidt-Cassegrain optics capture 1.3 times more light than the 8-inch version and 1127 times more than the naked eye. Galaxies show structure instead of a faint smudge, planetary nebulae reveal their shape, and details on Jupiter and Saturn jump into view faster. The StarBright XLT coatings retain almost all of that light.

NexStar Evolution 9.25 with fork mount

Accurate tracking, comfortable moving

The robust fork arm with brass worm gears tracks objects with remarkable stability, even at high magnifications. Integrated clutches allow you to manually slew the telescope when you want to explore the sky intuitively. The built-in LiFePO4 battery powers the system for an entire night, without a single cable. Integrated handles make moving this large instrument surprisingly easy.

The SkyPortal app controls the NexStar Evolution 9.25 via WiFi

Control via app, controller, or laptop

Standard WiFi makes the SkyPortal app on your smartphone or tablet the main control: tap an object, and the telescope slews to it. More traditional operation is possible with the included NexStar+ hand controller, which has over 40,000 objects. For maximum precision, connect your laptop via CPWI software and add additional alignment stars.

The NexStar Evolution's Schmidt-Cassegrain optics

Visually and photographically deployable

With the 40 mm eyepiece (59x), you can explore wide deep-sky objects like the Trifid Nebula; the 13 mm eyepiece (181x) captures the Ring Nebula, moon craters, and planetary detail. Place a planetary camera behind the tube, and you'll get sharp images of Jupiter, Saturn, or Mars. On paper, magnification up to around 470x is useful; in practice, the Dutch atmosphere usually limits planetary observation to around 300x.

NexStar Evolution 9.25, mount details

For whom yes, for whom no

For the serious observer who wants one system for years of visual work and planetary photography, with maximum detail. Not for those primarily seeking lightweight travel convenience; in that case, choose the Evolution 6 or a NexStar SE. Compare the models on the category page or ask for our advice.

NexStar Evolution 9.25 ready for a night of observation

Supplied complete, ready to use

Set up the tripod, attach the tube, align via the app, and observe. The two accessory trays keep eyepieces and filters within easy reach, and the illuminated altitude scale helps with setup in the dark. The custom-made Oklop backpack for C9.25 tubes protects the optics on the go; it's included in the recommended bundle.
