Celestron's sharpest 9.25, photographically complete
The Celestron EdgeHD 925 Advanced VX The beloved 9.25-inch optics in EdgeHD version are coupled with the Advanced VX GoTo. The aplanatic design delivers a flat, coma-free field of view: stars remain point-like even in the corners of a large camera sensor. With 1127 times more light than the naked eye and a 2350 mm focal length, this is the all-rounder for those who want top visual quality and serious photography in one system.
EdgeHD technology in brief
Corrections in the baffle flatten the field of view, mirror locks prevent shifting during long exposures, and ventilation holes speed up cooling. Realistic planetary work goes up to about 300x under Dutch skies; the stable C9.25 optics make the difference. With the optional f/7 reducer, the system becomes faster for deep-sky shots.
The Advanced VX: Built for Photography
The Advanced VX is a German equatorial GoTo mount with a 30 lb payload capacity, NexStar+ hand controller with over 40,000 objects, All-Star Polar Alignment for polar alignment without a view of Polaris, permanent periodic error correction (PPEC), and an autoguider port. The mount operates on 12V; a power tank is the logical addition.
For whom yes, for whom no
For the advanced observer or astrophotographer seeking a single system for years, with the best balance of aperture, sharpness, and portability. Not for those who primarily observe visually on a smaller budget; the standard SC 235/2350 on the same mount is then the more logical choice.
