The Bresser AC 102/1000 Messier Hexafoc OTA is the classic four-inch refractor for your own mount. At f/9.8, chromatic aberration is well under control, and you get true-to-life, high-contrast images of the Moon, planets, and double stars, with the 2.5-inch Hexafoc as a sturdy base for heavy eyepieces.

The 102mm lens captures approximately 212 times more light than the naked eye. With the 26mm eyepiece, you get 38x magnification; consider approximately 204x as the maximum. A refractor has no obstruction and no collimation: set it up and look.

Which mount fits this?

The meter-long tube calls for stability: the Bresser EXOS-2/EQ-5 mount with tripod (€539) is the comfortable choice, the Bresser EXOS-1/EQ-4 mount with tripod (€379) the visual minimum. Via the Vixen-Style dovetail, the tube fits on any mount with a standard Vixen clamp.
