De Bresser 100/1400 Maksutov EQ-3 levert veel brandpunt in een compacte, gesloten buis. Het meegeleverde objectief-zonnefilter maakt hem daarnaast geschikt voor veilige zonwaarneming: zonnevlekken volg je hiermee comfortabel.

Maksutov optics: high contrast, no maintenance

The Maksutov design folds a 1400 mm focal length into a short, closed tube. The meniscus lens corrects the mirror almost completely: no chromatic aberrations and a small central obstruction, resulting in high contrast. The 100 mm aperture provides 54x magnification with the included 26 mm eyepiece; consider approximately 200x as the maximum (f/14). Collimation is rarely needed, the optics are virtually maintenance-free. Allow for 30 to 45 minutes of cool-down time: the closed tube needs to reach outdoor temperature for the sharpest image. Use the solar filter only if it is undamaged, and never look at the sun without certified protection.

EQ-3 mounting with slow motion

After aligning on Polaris, you follow the Moon, planets, or the Sun with a single rotation. The smartphone adapter captures your observations.
