Skywatcher Infinity-76: stargazing for the youngest astronomers

The Skywatcher Infinity-76 is a 76/300 mm reflecting telescope made especially for children's hands. The tube weighs 0.9 kg, rests on a sturdy bowl-shaped base, and has a fixed magnification of 30x with an upright image. Focusing works like binoculars: turning the eyepiece. What do you see through the Infinity 76?

The moon is the star of the show: craters and lunar maria are clearly visible at 30x magnification. Bright planets appear as sharp points, and bright targets such as the Orion Nebula and the Pleiades are achievable under a dark sky. Thanks to the upright image, it also works for birds and landscapes during the day, making it extra useful for children.

• Start at the moon Around the first quarter: along the light-dark boundary you see the most craters.
• Place it on a sturdy table or windowsill; the low center of gravity does the rest.
• Never look at the sun through the telescope; that applies to every telescope, and with children it deserves an explicit agreement.
• Manage expectations: The fixed 30x is made for convenience, not for planetary detail. If your child wants more after that, that is the moment for a next step.

Hello children from about 5 to 10 years old as a first introduction, without the risk of incorrectly assembled parts or lost eyepieces.
