After a few times of focusing, the stars on your C5 are sometimes no longer nicely centered in high magnification. Then it’s time to collimate. These adjustment screws for the Celestron C5 f/10 from Bob’s Knobs replace the original screws for the secondary mirror with ones with a large knob, so you can do it with your fingers.
This version has metric threaded screws. The C5 is a compact catadioptric telescope with the collimation screws in the middle of the corrector plate. Check beforehand which thread your model has.
Replace the screws one by one so that the secondary mirror does not come loose. Then rotate just a little bit each time and check the collimation for a star. You can read more about this type of job in our explanation on adjusting the telescope.
If your C5 comes standard with wire, choose the Version with standard wire. There is a cover plate against a coated corrector plate. rainbow band for 5 inch telescopes.
