The Eyeguard Extender raises the eyecup of an eyepiece. For those with deep-set eyes, or those observing without glasses through an eyepiece with a very long eye relief, this places the eye precisely in the right position.

Especially with eyepieces having an eye relief of 20 mm or more, the extender prevents floating above the eye lens and the associated shadow formation.
