ZWO ASI6200MC Pro: 61 Megapixel Full-Frame Top-Class Color
The ASI6200MC Pro plays in the absolute top class of astrophotography. The full-frame Sony IMX455 sensor (36 x 24 mm, 43 mm diagonal) delivers 9576 x 6388 pixels: 61 megapixels of field of view and detail, selected in native 16 bit.
The sensor combines a quantum efficiency of approximately 91% with complete glow-free performance and 3.76-micrometer pixels: optimal sampling on astrographs and apochromats, even on fast f/4 systems. The Peltier cooling system can cool the sensor to 35 degrees Celsius below ambient temperature.
The largest field, the finest grid
Where full-frame used to mean large pixels, the IMX455 offers both: the full 43mm field and 3.76 micrometer sampling. Large nebulae complexes fit into a frame with cropping as a luxurious afterthought.
The 16-bit readout captures the full range, from bright cores to the faintest edges of galaxies.
Prerequisites for Top Class
A sensor of this size requires a corrector with a full image circle and a flat, orthogonally aligned optical train; the ZWO tilt flattener allows for fine adjustment. The 512MB DDR3 buffer memory and USB 3.0 keep the data stream of 61-megapixel frames stable.
The cooling requires a 12-volt power supply; with a duo-band filter in a 2-inch drawer, you can photograph emission nebulae even from the city.
