ZWO ASI432MM Mono: the solar specialist with global shutter
The ASI432MM is built for the sun. The Sony IMX432 sensor combines massive 9-micrometer pixels with a global shutter: all pixels are read out simultaneously, without the distortion that a rolling shutter causes with rapid turbulence. Exactly what solar photography in white light and H-alpha requires.
The full well of no less than 97,000 electrons handles the extreme brightness differences on the solar disk without blowing out, while 120 frames per second capture the sharpest moments between atmospheric turbulence. The sensor is completely free of amplifier glow.

Why large pixels win here
In solar and lunar imaging, dynamic range matters more than pixel counts. The 9-micrometer pixels capture a large amount of signal per exposure, which allows for short shutter speeds and low gain: the foundation for low-noise stacks.
The resolution of 1608 x 1104 (1.77 MP) is modest, but at long focal lengths it covers the solar or lunar details that matter.

Global shutter in practice
In fast seeing conditions, a rolling shutter distorts the image line by line; a global shutter freezes the entire field in an instant. For H-alpha prominences and granulation, this is visible in the sharpness of each frame.
The clear AR window transmits UV and IR; an IR-cut filter can be added optionally. When viewing the sun, always use a safe, undamaged filter system at the front.

For whom yes, for whom no
Hello solar and lunar photographers who prioritize dynamics, speed, and a global shutter over megapixels.
Not deep-sky photographers; the low pixel count is not meant for that.
