Do you attach the Quark’s battery pack to the telescope, or do you pull the cable out when you rotate it to connect it? With a Quark USB extension cable, you bridge the distance between your DayStar Quark and the power source. This allows the battery to be placed on the ground or on a table away from the moving parts of your setup.
Especially on a mount that follows the sun, a longer cable is convenient because the cable does not pull on the Quark while the telescope rotates. This applies, for example, to an equatorial mounting with tracking motor.
Lay the cable with a wide loop along the mounting and secure it with a Velcro strap so that there is no tension on the connection. After positioning, check again to ensure that the cable cannot get caught anywhere.
As a power source, you can use an accumulator pack with a USB output, such as the Celestron PowerTank Lithium LT, Provided that it provides enough power. Works at home the mains power supply for the Quark.
