Transport packaging of foam for Celestron CGX mounting, Styropack | Oklop

A large equatorial mount like the Celestron CGX should not be left in the car during transport. This Celestron CGX transport packaging made of foam, manufactured by Oklop, holds the mount securely and protects it from shocks.

The CGX is often used for astrophotography with heavier telescopes. If you want to expand your setup, check out our telescopes for astrophotography. For the smaller Celestron mount there is a separate packaging for the AVX.

Assemble the unit without any counterweights or cables, and secure the axles with the clamps. Lift the packaging containing the assembly from the bottom and not from the edges, because the foam may break under that weight. Store the packaging in a dry and flat place.

If a large SCT remains outside overnight after installation, then a protective case for SCT on EQ mounting useful.
