TeleVue TV-60: Mounting head: compact mounting head for the TV-60
The TV-60 mounting head is the smallest head in the lineup, custom-made for the TV-60 travel refractor. It screws onto a photo tripod and gives the small tube a smooth, friction-controlled alt-azimuth movement.
Together with the TV-60, the whole thing fits in hand luggage: the complete portable observatory.

The TeleVue Philosophy: Alt-Azimuth Without Electronics
TeleVue builds its mounts around a simple idea: grab, point, look. No polar alignment, no power, no menus. You push the telescope to your target, and friction holds it there.
The friction of the bearings is adjustable per axis, so tracking at high magnification is done with a fingertip. For visual observation with a refractor, this is the fastest route from the front door to the first object.
Made for the travel tube
Every gram counts when traveling, so the head is precisely as heavy as necessary for the TV-60 and no heavier. The friction holds the tube wherever you let go of it, even pointing steeply upward.
For fine movements, the matching X-Y tangential adjustment is available as an extension.
