The Tele-Pod Advanced is the lightest mount in the TeleVue line: the well-known Tele-Pod head on an ash wood tripod with an accessory tray. For smaller TeleVue refractors, this is the pick-up-and-go solution.

Setting it up literally takes a minute: extend the legs, place the tube in the cradle, done.

The TeleVue Philosophy: Alt-Azimuth Without Electronics

TeleVue builds its mounts around a simple idea: grab, point, look. No polar alignment, no power, no menus. You push the telescope to your target, and friction holds it there.

The friction of the bearings is adjustable per axis, so tracking at high magnification is done with a fingertip. For visual observation with a refractor, this is the fastest route from the front door to the first object.

Why a wooden tripod

The ash wood tripod legs aren’t just a nostalgic touch: wood dampens vibrations faster than aluminum or steel. After a tap against the tube, the image stabilizes more quickly, and you’ll notice that every night, especially at high magnification merk.

The triangular wooden accessory shelf connects the legs and stiffens the whole unit; the metal ground stakes with rubber caps are stable on both grass and tiles.
