TeleVue Sol Searcher – Finder Scope

The TeleVue Sol-Searcher is a thoughtful and safe sunseeker which you can quickly and accurately center the sun without looking directly at it. When observing the sun, safety is always paramount, and this finder has been specifically developed to guarantee that.

Instead of looking through an optical viewfinder, the Sol Searcher projects an image of the sun onto a small screen via a small aperture. So you're not looking towards the sun, but away from it. That makes aiming intuitive and safe.

Safely and easily aim at the sun

Once the sun is precisely centered, a bright and sharp solar image appears on the projection screen. By slightly moving the telescope, you can easily center the image.

This system prevents you from accidentally looking at the sun through a traditional viewfinder – a significant safety advantage during any form of solar observation.

Broad compatibility

The Sol-Searcher is designed for all TeleVue telescopes and can be mounted directly onto them.

With the optional QRB-1002 prism bank With a prism housing, this sun finder can also be made suitable for almost all other telescopes.

For mounting in a standard finder bracket, a suitable dovetail trail required (not included).
