De Delos 6 mm is een klassieke planeetbrandpuntsafstand. Op een telescoop met 1200 mm brandpuntsafstand levert hij 200x, een vergroting die op veel avonden bruikbaar blijft.

Het verschil met een eenvoudig planeetoculair zit in de randscherpte en de kleurneutraliteit. De Delos-serie is gebouwd op dezelfde uitgangspunten als de Ethos, alleen met een smaller veld en meer oogafstand.

72 degrees with a long eye relief

The Delos series is designed as a narrower Ethos field of view with more space behind the eyepiece. By keeping the field of view at 72 degrees, TeleVue was able to bring the eye relief to 20mm without the eyepiece becoming unmanageably large.

For eyeglass wearers, that's the difference between seeing the full field of vision and missing a part of it. Even without glasses, you're looking more relaxed because your eye doesn't have to push against the lens.

Waarom kleurneutraliteit telt

Bij planeetwaarneming werk je met subtiele kleurverschillen: de banden van Jupiter, de kleurzweem van Mars, de tinten in een maankrater bij lage zonnestand. Een oculair dat kleur verschuift, kost je precies dat detail.

De glasgematchte coatings houden de kleurweergave neutraal over het hele veld, ook aan de rand waar eenvoudiger ontwerpen laterale kleur laten zien.

Interpupillary distance and adjustable eyecup

The eyecup is steplessly adjustable in height and lockable in any position, with index markings so you can find a previously found position. This ensures your eye's pupil is always in the same position relative to the telescope's exit pupil.

That's more than comfort. A misplaced eye causes edge discoloration and shadows in the image. With a fixed, repeatable eye position, that problem is gone, even during long sessions.

In your telescope

In een telescoop met 1200 mm brandpuntsafstand levert dit oculair ongeveer 200x met een waar beeldveld van circa 0,36 graden. Voor je eigen telescoop reken je dat uit met de veldstop: waar beeldveld = 57,3 x veldstop gedeeld door de brandpuntsafstand van de telescoop.

De effectieve veldstop van dit model is 7,6 mm. Dat getal bepaalt hoeveel hemel je werkelijk ziet, niet de brandpuntsafstand alleen.
