De Delos 17,3 mm was tot de komst van de 24 mm de langste brandpuntsafstand van de serie. Met een veldstop van 21,7 mm zit hij dicht tegen de mechanische grens van een 1,25 inch steek aan.

Voor een enkel allround oculair in een 1,25 inch focuser is dit vaak de beste keuze uit de serie: het grootste beeldveld dat nog binnen de steek past, met de volle 20 mm oogafstand.

72 degrees with a long eye relief

The Delos series is designed as a narrower Ethos field of view with more space behind the eyepiece. By keeping the field of view at 72 degrees, TeleVue was able to bring the eye relief to 20mm without the eyepiece becoming unmanageably large.

For eyeglass wearers, that's the difference between seeing the full field of vision and missing a part of it. Even without glasses, you're looking more relaxed because your eye doesn't have to push against the lens.

De grens van 1,25 inch

Een 1,25 inch steek laat een veldstop van maximaal ongeveer 27 mm toe. Met 21,7 mm benut dit oculair daar een flink deel van, zonder de vignettering die bij het uiterste optreedt.

Wil je verder, dan is een 2 inch oculair nodig. Binnen de serie is dat de 24 mm Delos.

Interpupillary distance and adjustable eyecup

The eyecup is steplessly adjustable in height and lockable in any position, with index markings so you can find a previously found position. This ensures your eye's pupil is always in the same position relative to the telescope's exit pupil.

That's more than comfort. A misplaced eye causes edge discoloration and shadows in the image. With a fixed, repeatable eye position, that problem is gone, even during long sessions.

In your telescope

In een telescoop met 1200 mm brandpuntsafstand levert dit oculair ongeveer 69x met een waar beeldveld van circa 1,04 graden. Voor je eigen telescoop reken je dat uit met de veldstop: waar beeldveld = 57,3 x veldstop gedeeld door de brandpuntsafstand van de telescoop.

De effectieve veldstop van dit model is 21,7 mm. Dat getal bepaalt hoeveel hemel je werkelijk ziet, niet de brandpuntsafstand alleen.
