On most telescopes, the DeLite 11 mm provides a medium magnification that is suitable for both deep-sky objects and the Moon. It is one of the most popular focal lengths in the series.

The DeLite series is designed as a compact version of the Delos: the same principle of a long eye relief, but with a 62-degree field of view and a smaller housing. This makes the series suitable for mounts and binoviewers where weight is a factor.

62 degrees with a long eye relief

The DeLite series is designed as a narrower Ethos field of view with more eye relief. By keeping the apparent field of view at 62 degrees, TeleVue was able to bring the eye relief to 20mm without making the eyepiece unmanageably large.

For eyeglass wearers, that's the difference between seeing the full field of vision and missing a part of it. Even without glasses, you're looking more relaxed because your eye doesn't have to push against the lens.

An eyepiece that stays in place

With this magnification you rarely need to switch: objects are large enough for detail and the field of view is wide enough to comfortably track the object.

When used with a Powermate, you can extend this brand point spacing to 5.5 or 4.4 mm without reducing the eye spacing.

Interpupillary distance and adjustable eyecup

The eyecup is steplessly adjustable in height and lockable in any position, with index markings so you can find a previously found position. This ensures your eye's pupil is always in the same position relative to the telescope's exit pupil.

That's more than comfort. A misplaced eye causes edge discoloration and shadows in the image. With a fixed, repeatable eye position, that problem is gone, even during long sessions.

In your telescope

In a telescope with a 1200 mm brand focal length, this eyepiece provides approximately 109x magnification with a true field of view of about 0.57 degrees. To calculate this for your own telescope, use the field stop: true field of view = 57.3 × field stop divided by the telescope’s brand focal length.

The effective field stop of this model is 11.9 mm. That number determines how much of the sky you actually see, not just the brand point distance.
