An 8-inch Schmidt-Cassegrain is compact enough to carry, but with the tube in your arms you don’t have a hand free for a tripod or mounting. This Oklop padded bag is worn in the hand or as a backpack for your 8-inch Schmidt-Cassegrain, so you can also use it on a hiking trail or up the stairs to a rooftop terrace.

The bag is intended for SC8 buses, such as those of the Celestron C8 with AVX mounting. Other models are listed under the Schmidt-Cassegrain telescopes.

Measure the length of your tube, including any dew cap, focus lens or viewfinder, as accessories often protrude. Remove the diagonal mirror and eyepiece, place the dust cap on the rear opening and let the corrector plate dry first after a wet night before closing the bag.
