Everything is ready, the sky is clear, and after an hour the stars fade away. Often the front lens is fogged up then. A mist band around your 8-inch telescope prevents that, because the band keeps the glass just above the fog point. This version of Astrozap is intended for telescopes of 7 and 8 inches.
You attach the band to the tube, near the front optics, for example on an 8-inch Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope with the corrector plate at the front. Schmidt-Cassegrain telescopes See which models fit in this size. Be sure to measure the outer diameter of your own tube at the point where the tire comes in.
The band needs a power source, usually a dew controller. With a controller with two channels Set the temperature and you can connect a second band later, for example for your viewfinder. Turn on the heating before the glass gets foggy.
If your tube is slightly larger, then look at the rainband for 9 and 10 inch.
