Sky-Watcher EQ-2 Mount with Tripod: The First Step in Equatorial Tracking

The EQ-2 provides a simple yet stable equatorial mount for a small telescope. You align the polar axis with Polaris, and then using a single fine adjustment knob, you can keep an object in view: the sky rotates, and your telescope smoothly follows along. For beginners, this makes a big difference compared to a simple tripod.

The worm gear drive moves smoothly and the metal counterweight balances tubes up to 4 kg. With the optionally available RA motor drive, the mount follows even fully automatically, which is convenient at higher magnifications on the moon and planets. The aluminum tripod with accessory tray weighs only 1.5 kg.
