Sky-Watcher HEQ-5 Pro upgrade kit: your HEQ5 becomes a fully-fledged GoTo mount

With this kit you give your existing HEQ5 mount full GoTo functionality. Choose an object on the SynScan LCD hand controller and the mount automatically slews to it, with a positioning accuracy of up to 1 arcminute. The database contains over 42,900 objects, including the complete Messier, NGC, and IC catalogs, plus space for your own favorites.

The stepper motors (1.8 degrees per step) slew at up to 3.4 degrees per second and then track at guiding speeds from 0.25x to 1x. PEC (Periodic Error Correction) and a PC connection also make the kit interesting for astrophotography: combined with an autoguider, your motorized HEQ5 becomes a serious imaging platform. Firmware updates are performed via the included RS-232 cable.

Compatibility

Suitable for the Sky-Watcher HEQ5 (Syntrek or hand-controlled). Similar kits exist for the other classic EQ mounts; for the standard EQ6, there is the SynScan PRO upgrade kit.
