Sky-Watcher EQM-35 Pro SynScan GoTo Mount: One Mount, Two Forms

The EQM-35 Pro is an equatorial GoTo mount with a special trick: the DEC axis is removable. In its full configuration, it carries telescopes up to 10 kg, with SynScan GoTo, polar scope, and autoguiding for visual work and astrophotography. If you remove the DEC axis, you're left with a lightweight photo mount with only the RA axis driven: exactly what a DSLR with a telephoto lens needs for widefield shots.

The modularity makes the EQM-35 Pro attractive for those who photograph on the go. At home, it runs a complete telescope setup; for travel, only the lightweight photography section goes along. The SynScan hand controller provides access to 42,900 objects with 1-, 2-, and 3-star alignment.
