Used Sky-Watcher Heritage-150P FlexTube

This is a used Sky-Watcher Heritage-150P FlexTube: a tabletop Dobson telescope with a 150 mm parabolic mirror and a 750 mm brandfocal length (f/5). The mirror captures about a third more light than that of the 130P, while the retractable tube still fits in the back seat. We inspected this model in our own workshop.

What do you see through the Heritage 150P?

The extra mirror area merk is especially useful for deep-sky observations. Spherical star clusters begin to fall apart at the edge, the Orion Nebula shows more structure, and under a dark sky weaker star clusters come within reach. On the Moon and the planets, you see the same as with 130P, with just a little more quietness and detail.

This is how to get the most out of this telescope

• Choose a firm surface. The 150P is heavier than the smaller Heritage models; a sturdy table or box prevents vibrations.
• Give the mirror half an hour. A mirror at outdoor temperature gives a more peaceful image.
