Omegon Pro SII CCD Filter 1.25″ is a narrow-band filter that lets through only light with a wavelength of about 672 nanometers - the emission line of ionized sulfur (SII). This type of filter is indispensable for astrophotographers working with monochrome CCD or CMOS cameras who want to capture the full Hubble palette (SII, H-alpha, OIII).
The high peak transmission within a very narrow bandwidth makes even the faintest sulfur structures visible, while effectively suppressing unwanted light - such as from street lights or moonlight. This allows you to take sharp and high-contrast images of emission nebulae such as the Rosette Nebula, the Lobster Nebula or IC 443 (Jellyfish Nebula) even from light-polluted locations.
The filter comes in a durable 1.25″ aluminum mount and is compatible with virtually all common filter wheels and camera adapters. The multiple coating minimizes internal reflections and maximizes the signal in the desired spectrum.
