Omegon MiniTrack LX3 Astrotracker with Polar Scope: Mechanical tracking with optical polar finder

The MiniTrack LX3 is the full version with an optical polar scope. This allows you to align more accurately with the celestial pole than with a simple finder scope, which is immediately noticeable in rounder stars during longer exposures.

The MiniTrack works entirely mechanically: you wind it up like a kitchen timer, and it tracks the stars for up to an hour. No batteries, no cables, no firmware. On a cold night far from home, that's just one less thing that can break.

Compact, light and strong

The CNC-machined aluminum housing remains stable and durable in a backpack. Cameras up to 3 kg are no problem, so you can also use a lightweight telephoto lens without image shake.

Sixty minutes follow

The large Teflon slide bearing ensures smooth movement. The updated spring system replaces a counterweight and keeps the camera stable, even at the end of the wind.

Alignment determines the outcome

With a tracker, everything depends on polar alignment. The more precisely you align to the celestial pole, the longer you can expose before stars start trailing. The polar scope is therefore not a luxury, but the component that determines your exposure time.

Featured accessories

To mount the LX3 on a polar alignment scope, you'll need a 55 mm dovetail plate. A ball head to aim the camera is purchased separately, or choose the set that already includes one.
