The Omegon Camera veLOX 287 M Mono is made for high speeds and maximum sharpness. Thanks to the Sony IMX287 mono sensor with extra-large pixels (6.9 µm), you capture a lot of light per frame, ideal for freezing turbulence in the atmosphere and revealing the smallest details. This makes it great for lucky imaging of the Moon, planets and the Sun (with an appropriate solar filter).
Mono shots have higher resolution and contrast than color cameras. For those who want to work with filters and a filter wheel later, this offers the most flexibility. In addition, this camera functions perfectly as an autoguider: even at short exposures, you can use weak tracking stars to accurately correct your mount.
The housing is compact, light and fits directly into a 1.25″ focuser. Via USB 3.0, data is transmitted at lightning speed and the ST4 connection allows direct guiding.
What you can do with it:
- Capturing planets and Moon with very high frame rate
- Sun photography (with safe filter) including prominences
- Monochrome shooting for greater sharpness and dynamics
- Perform autoguiding with short exposures and high precision
