With a 100 mm aperture, you view with both eyes objects that are already impressive in a single 100 mm refractor. This is the culmination of the Brightsky line and requires a serious mount.
100 mm at 30x: the maximum with both eyes
Two 100 mm objectives effectively turn this binoculars into a double refractor. Globular clusters like M13 resolve into stars at the edge, in M42 you see the Trapezium stars separated from each other, and the M81 Galaxy shows a clear core.
At 30x magnification, the field of view is 2.1 degrees, still four full moons wide. The 3.3 mm exit pupil suits a dark-adapted eye well and keeps the sky background dark.
Schuine inkijk van 45 graden
De 45 graden inkijk is de veelzijdige stand. Laag aan de horizon en tot ongeveer 60 graden hoogte zit je ontspannen achter de oculairs, ook op een gewone statiefkop. Voor vogels op het wad, schepen op zee en de maan boven het landschap is dit de prettigste hoek.
Richt je vaak op het zenit, dan moet je bij 45 graden verder onder de kijker gaan zitten. Wie vooral deep-sky hoog aan de hemel waarneemt, kiest beter de 90 graden uitvoering.
Fully multicoated achromatic optics
The objectives and prisms are fully multi-coated. This keeps light transmission high and suppresses internal reflections that affect contrast in bright objects. At this price, you get the aperture and interchangeable eyepiece concept of the top class, without the extra cost of ED glass.
Near the moon's limb and bright stars, a slight color fringe is visible, which is normal for an achromat of this aperture. Anyone who finds this distracting can choose the ED-APO version of the same model.
Interchangeable eyepieces and filter thread
By default, two 18 mm flatfield eyepieces with a 65-degree apparent field of view are included. They are 1.25 inches, so you can replace them with any pair of eyepieces from your telescope case. For example, two 10 mm eyepieces provide a higher magnification for the moon and planets.
Both eyepiece holders have 1.25-inch filter threads. A pair of UHC filters enhances the contrast of nebulae from a light-polluted environment. Each tube has its own focusing mechanism, allowing you to precisely adjust the viewer to your eyes.
Mounting a tripod
Almost 7 kg of optics on a long tube: here the Neptune fork mount is not an accessory, but a requirement. In combination with a pier tripod or the carbon tripod, you can look up comfortably from a chair without the image shaking.
This binoculars cannot be used on a standard photo tripod. Anyone who wants the complete package all at once should choose the set with the Neptune fork mount and tripod.
Included hard case
This version comes in the matching Omegon hard case with custom foam inlay. Two locks, a sturdy handle, and an impact-resistant exterior protect the optics in the car and in the attic. Purchased separately, the case costs considerably more than the price difference compared to the bare telescope.
