Twelve inch: maximum performance under a dark sky

The Levenhuk New Skyline PRO 12 inch is the serious large telescope from the Skyline family: 304 mm parabolic aperture, 1525 mm focal length, and 1886 times more light than the naked eye. Spiral structure in galaxies, color in planetary nebulae, and globular clusters resolved to the core: this is the class where a dark sky truly delivers.

Large, but thoughtful

The main mirror cooling significantly shortens the cooling time of the large mirror, and the 8×40 optical viewfinder makes star gazing comfortable. The Plössl eyepieces of 25 mm and 10 mm deliver 61x and 153x; on paper, up to about 608x is feasible, but the atmosphere usually allows for about 300x. Plan on a fixed storage space: the tube and rockerbox are substantial.

For whom yes, for whom no

Recommended for: the advanced visual observer with access to a dark sky and space for a full 12 inches. Not recommended for: those who need to transport it regularly; the Retractable model folds up, and the 10-inch model weighs noticeably less.
