iOptron CEM26 Mount GoTo iPolar LiteRoc: GoTo mount with electronic polar scope

The iOptron CEM26 is a centrally-balanced equatorial GoTo mount. The weight of the telescope and mount rests directly above the center of the tripod, providing a remarkably stable setup at a self-weight of just 4.5 kg (10 lbs). Its payload capacity is 12 kg (26 lbs), excluding counterweights.

In this version, the iPolar electronic polar scope is built into the polar axis. You perform the polar alignment entirely on your laptop screen: faster and more precisely than by eye, even without a clear view of the North Star.

The included LiteRoc stainless steel tripod completes the setup for visual use and astrophotography.

GoTo with 212,000 objects

The Go2Nova 8409 hand controller contains a database of over 212,000 objects. After alignment, the mount automatically slews to planets, nebulae, star clusters, and galaxies, keeping them precisely in view.

Via the built-in WiFi, you can also control the mount with iOptron Commander or planetarium software; ASCOM support enables full computer control. An ST-4 port is ready for autoguiding.

Smooth and precise mechanics

The worm gears are driven by a belt, which makes the movement quiet and smooth. The periodic error remains below plus or minus 10 arcseconds and can be further reduced with recordable PPEC.

The gear couplings lock with a positive click and can also be operated with gloves on. The adjustable counterweight rod prevents weights from hitting the tripod.

Align on screen

Connect the iPolar to your laptop via USB, and the free software displays the celestial pole and the direction of the polar axis. Using the adjustment knobs, you bring both together in a matter of minutes; the software calculates using date, time, and atmospheric refraction.

The assembly operates on 12 V DC; the included power adapter delivers 5 A.
