If you change your focus lens and build the new one a little lower than the old one, you will soon be missing more than a few millimeters. This 35.6 mm, or 1.4 inch, focus lens increase from Starlight Instruments puts a 2 inch focus lens further from the tube and captures a larger difference.
The increase occurs between the focus base and the focus, so the entire focusing range extends outwards. This can also be the solution if eyepieces do not focus properly because the extension tube is already fully extended. If you are unsure about the cause, please read first. Why you don't see anything through your telescope.

There are smaller steps with The increase of about 1 inch, larger with The increase of about 2.75 inches.
