The most affordable Messier: wide-field on an EQ mount!
The Bresser Messier 90/500 EQ-3 is the most affordable entry into the Messier refractor line. The wide field of view shows the Milky Way, open star clusters, and the Moon, and with the equatorial EQ-3 mount, you immediately learn to track objects the way experienced observers do.

Fast achromatic lens for overview
The 90 mm lens gathers about 165 times more light than the naked eye and shows a wide patch of sky at 19x magnification. Honest advice: this fast design produces color fringing on bright objects at high magnification; it is at its best as a wide-field telescope.
EQ-3 mounting with slow motion
After alignment with the North Star, you track every object with a single rotation: the ideal learning school for a later step toward a larger equatorial mount.

For whom yes, for whom no
Good for: budget-conscious beginners who want to learn how to work with an equatorial mount. Not for: planetary enthusiasts; a longer focal length is better suited for that. Compare via the Buying guide or bij telescopes for beginners. Meer Bresser is on the merk page.
