Your C8 does need collimation from time to time, and you do that with the screws in the holder of the secondary mirror. Working with a screwdriver just before the corrector plate feels never completely safe in the dark. With these Bob’s Knobs for the Celestron C8 f/10 you adjust the mirror with your fingers, with large buttons instead of small screws.
This set has metric threaded connections, for C8 telescopes that are equipped with them. For example, if you have a Celestron C8 on AVX mounting, First, check what thread your model has, because that varies depending on the model.
Replace the screws one by one so that the mirror does not detach. Then re-align the star on a blurred background and rotate it just a tiny bit at a time. What you’re looking for is explained in our explanation on how to adjust your telescope.
If your C8 has standard wire, then choose the Set for the C8 with standard wire.
