Omegon Crayford Focuser for Newton Telescopes 2 inch: more payload capacity and a camera mount

This Crayford focuser is in the same price segment as the Alpha, but targets a different user. Its load capacity is a generous 2.5 kg, and it features T2 and M54 threads on the camera side.

This makes it the cheapest Omegon focuser with which you can seriously photograph. The metal housing and the ball-bearing drawtube hold a camera steadily in place.

Clearance of 50.5 mm

The 50.5 mm aperture is remarkably generous for this price range. This means less vignetting at the edges of your shots, even with a larger sensor.

The focus travel is 33 mm. The backfocus of 110 mm provides room to insert reducers or flatteners.

Direct connect to a camera

Via the T2 thread (M42 x 0.75), you screw a camera in place instead of clamping it. This prevents tilting and keeps the sensor perpendicular to the optical axis, which is reflected in rounder stars even in the corners.

The M54 thread provides space for larger adapters and filter drawers.

Adjustable friction and ring clamp

You adjust the friction based on the weight you are carrying. For a heavy camera, you tighten the clamp so that the drawtube does not sink when the telescope points to the zenith.

Featured accessories

A laser collimator belongs with every Newtonian, and is immediately necessary after replacing the focuser. If you work photographically, a 2-inch helical micro focuser is a good addition for final adjustments.
