Omegon Pro H-Alpha Filter 7nm 1.25 inch: photographing hydrogen clouds from the city
With a diameter of only 7 nanometers, this filter captures hydrogen clouds with high contrast, even under a light-polluted sky. H-alpha is the wavelength at which city astrophotography becomes realistic.

Only the red nightlight
The filter only allows through H-alpha light and blocks virtually all other wavelengths. Artificial light from sodium and mercury vapor lamps is effectively suppressed, leaving the background in your shot dark.

7 nm versus 12 nm
Compared to a 12-nanometer filter, this narrower aperture delivers more visible contrast and finer structure in clouds. Less background light means you can expose longer before the background darkens.

Part of a set
In the classic Hubble spectrum, H-alpha forms together with OIII and SII the three channels from which you build a color image. All three are available in the same 7 nm version.
Featured accessories
Combine with the Pro OIII 7nm and Pro SII 7nm for a complete narrowband set. A 1.25-inch filter wheel allows you to switch between channels without touching the setup.
