iOptron SkyGuider Pro Kit with Polar Wedge: Complete Tracking Kit with Polar Wedge
This set combines the iOptron SkyGuider Pro tracking mount with the iOptron Polar Wedge. The polar wedge replaces the ball head on your tripod and provides separate fine-tuning controls for polar altitude and azimuth. This makes polar alignment more stable and precise, which is immediately noticeable in longer exposures without streaked stars.
The SkyGuider Pro can carry up to 5 kg (11 lbs), which is enough for a camera with a telephoto lens or a small telescope. The included counterweight keeps the setup balanced and unloads the motor.
Together, the mount and wedge form a travel-friendly set that fits on any sturdy tripod with a 3/8 inch thread.
Stable alignment with the Polar Wedge
The metal polar wedge has separate knobs for elevation and azimuth and a built-in spirit level. This allows for precise, controlled minor adjustments during alignment without shifting the entire setup.
After alignment, you clamp everything down and the mount remains precisely pointed at the celestial pole all night.
Follow at four speeds
The DC servo motor with optical encoder tracks the stars smoothly. In addition to star speed, half star speed, sun speed, and moon speed are available, all usable in both hemispheres.
The illuminated AccuAlign polar scope assists with initial alignment, and autoguiding is possible via the ST-4 port.
Photographing on the go without power worries
The built-in lithium-polymer battery lasts up to 20 hours at 20 degrees Celsius and charges via micro-USB. The declination bracket also allows you to mount a second camera weighing up to 3 kg instead of the counterweight.
