Sky-Watcher SkyHawk-1145P AZ-Go2: the most affordable GoTo reflector
The Sky-Watcher SkyHawk-1145P AZ-Go2 combines a parabolic 114/500 mm Newtonian (f/4.4) with a WiFi GoTo mount: tap objects in the SynScan app and the telescope points and tracks. The most affordable route to computer-controlled viewing with a true parabolic mirror.

What do you see through the SkyHawk?
A 114 mm mirror reveals the moon in full detail, Jupiter's moons and belts, Saturn's rings, and under a dark sky, the first real deep-sky objects: the Orion Nebula, bright star clusters, and on good nights, a globular cluster. The ideal size to find out whether the hobby will stick.
Pocket-sized WiFi GoTo
The mount creates its own WiFi network; no internet is needed. The app tells you what can be seen tonight and points the telescope there. For beginners, this saves precisely the frustration that ruins many first telescopes: finding objects.
This is how to get the most out of this telescope
- Start with the lowest power eyepiece (the largest number): first find, then enlarge.
- Check mirror alignment after transport; our guide on collimation Keep it simple.
- Bring a power bank for the GoTo mount.
- Magnification: the 10 mm eyepiece gives 50x; a 6 mm eyepiece (83x) gets more out of the moon and planets.
- Never look directly at the sun without protection., not even for a moment: only with a certified solar filter on the front.
For whom yes and for whom no
Hello the beginner who wants to skip the search frustration for the smallest possible budget with real parabolic optics.
Not Anyone who already knows that the hobby will become serious is better off starting one size larger right away: those who want to see more can grab the 130 mm variant of the same formula. Our Telescope Buying Guide for Beginners and the PLP with telescopes for children Help with the choice.
Featured accessories
These accessories add the most after purchase:
- Moon Filter 25%: the Omegon Moon Filter 25% (1.25 inches) dampens the bright moonlight and increases the contrast. More explanation in our Moon filter guide.
- A 6mm planetary eyepiece: the Sky-Watcher 6mm Planetary UWA Eyepiece geeft 83x voor meer detail op maan en planeten. Wil je nog een stap hoger, dan is er ook de 5 mm versie (100x).
- Smartphone adapter: clip your phone onto the eyepiece for your first moon photos. The Sky-Watcher SmartPhoto+ adapter comes with a special 20 mm photo eyepiece.
